Dr. Erica Goodstone

Dr. Goodstone's goal is to work with clients who are conscientious, dedicated, and committed to healing and transforming their lives & their most intimate relationships. She prefers to schedule clients for a series of sessions, 5-10, so that when the going gets tough, the process continues to fruition.
Former Professor of Health & Physical Education, FIT/State University of NY, Dr. Goodstone has made it her life's work to understand the process of healing the mind-body-spirit connection & the process of creating & sustaining intimate love relationships.
She received her Ph.D. from New York University in an experimental & avant garde program in Human Sexuality, Marriage and Family Living. Her doctoral thesis explored the effects of mother infant bonding on the maturity & satisfaction of adult love relationships. She trained extensively in the areas of counseling, marriage counseling and humans sexuality with such leading experts as William Masters and Virginia Johnson (originators of Sex Therapy), Albert Ellis (Rational Emotive Therapy), Laura Perls (Gestalt Therapy), & the Moreno Institute (Psychodrama).
At the college, she taught a wide variety of physical activity courses including: gymnastics, slimnastics, body conditioning, tennis, dance, volleyball, & yoga. She taught stress managment & holistic health at a time when other faculty members were actually afraid the teachings might harm the students if they took vitamins and herbs.
As an avid athlete most of her life, she sought relief and remedies for the various neuromuscular aches and pains. Her search for personal healing, led to sessions in Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Trager, Rolfing and trainings from such prominent teachers as Waturu Ohashi (Ohashiatsu), Dr. John Upledger (Craniosacral Therapy), & Dr. John Beaulieu (Polarity Therapy).
Dr. Goodstone studied comprehensive hatha yoga with the Sivananda Center and Swami Vishu Devananda and intensive meditation with Siddha Yoga and Guru Mayi, Swami Muktananda's disciple. This led to her study of the old and new testaments of the bible, The Way International, The Rosicrucians, The Builders of the Adytum & The Kaballah.
At the same time, she worked with such leading consciousness gurus as Werner Erhard (EST & The Forum), Ken Keyes, Jr. (Living Love), & Robert Fritz (The Creative Process & DMA).
